About
Elizabeth Hatchuel, Ph.D., LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor
Owner of Evolve Clinical Services
I am an experienced clinician and counselor educator with a diverse range of experiences in the mental health field. I have worked in a number of settings to include schools, community-based agencies, higher education, research, and private practice. Grounded in the belief that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, I work collaboratively and purposefully with clients to help them reach their goals. I utilize a theoretically integrated approach to guide my work, drawing heavily from person-centered, dialectical-behavioral therapy, and solution-focused theories and techniques. What this means for clients is a highly personalized therapy experience in which interventions and goals are directly tailored to presenting needs.
I believe in the importance of therapeutic fit and find that therapy is most successful when clients feel both comfortable and challenged to grow in sessions. I know reaching out for help can be hard. It is my goal to help you feel safe, heard, and valued in our work together.
I am licensed by the Virginia Board of Counseling and Certified by the National Board for Certified Counselors. I have specialized post-graduate training in cognitive-behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, and the treatment of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In addition to working in private practice, I am a core faculty member in Capella University's Mental Health Counseling and Counselor Education & Supervision graduate program.
